“Throughout the year ‘Bongo Dave’ has entertained, educated and entranced young people with his unique style of African drumming and gained the respect of parents, staff, volunteers and the most challenging of teenagers! He has loads of creative ideas and projects are a passion especially involving the multi – ethnic community and young people. Dave is a great guy and the city would be a lesser place without him.”

“It was a great success and the children are still talking about it!”

“We weren’t really sure what to expect when we booked this workshop, and not sure how the children (who have varying degrees of hearing loss) would respond. Often music can be very difficult for a hearing impaired child to understand. However we needn’t have worried – it turned out to be a fun, enjoyable introduction to musicality and rhythm! All the children and parents who took part really enjoyed themselves – many of the children already asking when are we doing it again and talking about ‘the next time’. We would certainly consider doing it again, and be able to reassure our other members that their child would be able to fully participate and enjoy it.”

“It was an excellent evening where all the girls were novices at African Drumming and therefore had to contribute an equal amount of effort to get a good team result. It was a fun evening for all and it set us up well to compete at our Inter District Tournament as it helped cement the team ethic we were seeking, I certainly would recommend it to anyone.”
